Patience...you got it?

Joseph has some birthday money burning a hole in his pocket and he just cannot wait to spend it. I was talking to him about saving it and for something really good rather than just spending it because he had it. At which point that ominous sound came and Joe said "Mom the Ice cream man can I use my money on that." Well lesson in one ear and out the other.

Patience what makes us patient? I was never a patient person until I had Joe, and then I spent days just sitting beside him in the hospital. He in his isolette at bed 16, and me in my chair next to him. It was like watching a miracle! I had to look at bed 15 where Matthew had been. I had to see other babies in "his spot". That taught me patience. Being completely powerless, that taught me patience. Praying to God and wanting answers on my schedule rather than his....that taught me patience. Looking back those 92 days Joe was in the hospital helped mold me into who I am today. That may not be all that good =)

(Those are beanie babies with Joe...yep he was a small fry)

The blessings that came from Joe and Matthew are just so enormous! They have taught me contentment, faith, patience, perseverance, but more than anything Love. I have seen the power of the valley and the it is good.
