Vacation: Day 2
Yesterday was so nice.
We had a really great visit with a terrific couple of new friends in New Knoxville, Ohio. The Thompson's have our dream house...and who knows, maybe our dream life. A 100 year old beautiful Victorian home. Complete with the coolest tower room, I have ever seen. Inlaid wood floors. Big bold trim work around every door. Sweetness. All the while, sharing their home with some pretty neat kids. Joe was happy to find out they even play with Pokeman cards, just like him...in Ohio! Can you believe it. They have a squirrel out front that their cats chase. A coi fish pond...and above all, love. A house filled with love.
Then, we traveled to Lexington to spend time with our favorite family in the whole world. Family....isn't that nice. A blessing. A support. A help. A joy. The Fedeles have just finished their basement. It's like a ginormously big, clean, friendly suite. And they've done it for others. You can tell, they designated a spot in their home for others. That's special. That's unique in today's world. To care enough about others that you would make a place for them. Yep, I'm learning a lot this vacation.
Today's Joe's birthday. 9 years old. That's crazy. He's still just 4 in my head. Big day planned. But that will be for another blog.
