We had a nice weekend. Because of the rain and wind, most of it was spent inside. Laura had mentioned that I should try to blog, but I really didn't have much to say, until tonight.
It was just a simple thing. But it made me think.
After supper, there was some leftover pizza on the floor. Not an unusual site in the Swymeler household.
As dishes were being finished up, Laura grabbed some Lysol wipes and began working on the floor. She called to me to come see this. Our youngest, Carly, went into the living room, grabbed her bootie wipes, and sat down on the kitchen floor to wipe up the mess with mommy. A very cute thing. A veeeery cute thing.
Then it got me. My daughter is not simply my little girl. She is a lady in the works. She is a developing little woman that will one day make a beautiful wife. A giving mother. A caring mate. A smart worker. A mighty warrior for God. And everyday my wife is leading her a little closer to living up to her God-given potential.
But, Carly wasn't the only one on the floor. My beautiful wife. A giving mother. A caring mate. A smart worker. A might warrior for God was guiding her. Praising her. Laughing with her. And I can't help but wonder, when Laura was small, was there pizza on the floor one night... Where her loving mother. A beautiful wife. A giving mother. A caring mate. A smart worker. A mighty warrior for God sat and laughed with her as she pretended to wipe up the floor....
Take it for what you will, it made me stop and feel pretty blessed to be watching the linage of beautiful ladies...in the works.
