National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day
Remembering Matthew Norman Swymeler.....and so many others...
Today is -National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
October 15 has been proclaimed by the United States Congress as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day in the United States.
I have really been thinking lately about just how blessed we are to be able to mourn our children so openly and receive such support and love from others. I have really been thinking of the mothers who lost babies in years past and how they were treated. They delivered their babies and many times had a blanket thrown over the baby so they would be spared from seeing the baby and that was it. Many times nothing more.....maybe footprints if they were lucky. It really makes me sad. That was it. These babies were just gone and forgotten to all but these mothers. I can't even begin to imagine the pain these ladies are carrying around inside. We cannot forget about the older ladies who may not be blogging or internet savvy.... Our mothers and grandmothers. I remember hearing a story one time that a older lady came into the hospital I worked at looking for her baby born many years earlier.... She was ready to take the baby home. She was walking around the birthing area of the hospital calling the baby's name. The baby had passed away shortly after birth....
Please pray specifically for all those mothers whose scars are deep and who need to mourn the loss of their little ones.
